Managing Director Adolf W. Schultz
The founder of the company, Adolf W. Schultz, was born in Grunewald, in the Mark Brandenburg, the son of farmers from the Uckermark. The practical challenges of farming prompted him to look into the way electromagnets work. In 1906, Adolf Schultz developed the idea of a magnetic separator to separate metal parts from the ground material and thus protect the sensitive grinding stones. By co-founding the company Magnet-Werk in Eisenach (MWE) in 1909, he was able to implement his ideas on a larger scale. In 1912, he finally parted company with MWE and founded the Magnet-Schultz company in Memmingen as a special factory for electromagnetic devices. In doing so, he laid the foundation stone for a family business with tradition, which is now in its 4th generation.
